Pizza Spotlight for May

I am so happy that spring is here and summer is on it's way. That means the windows are open, kids are outside playing and you can eat outside at your favorite restaurants.
May's Pizza spotlight is Jockamo Upper Crust Pizza. They have 3 Locations, but the one I go to the most is their original location in Irvington. I just enjoy the street scene of Irvington which is great for people watching and you can your pizza eat outside on a nice day! Their other locations are in Lawrence Township and in Greenwood.
I was first introduced to this place about 10 years ago, and nothing has changed since that day. Their food is still amazing, breadsticks are decent, and the restaurant is clean. When you go, you have to get an order of their breadsticks. Their breadsticks aren't my favorite but they have a homemade Parmesan sauce that comes with them which makes them great!
Their menu is not like your average pizza place. They have fancy pizzas along with fancy names. My favorite by far is the Slaughterhouse Five. This comes with pepperoni, ham, sausage, bacon and sliced steak. Basically 5 meats. Their crust isn't very thick so it makes a meaty pizza like the Slaughterhouse Five eatable.
Recently, I tried their BBQ Chicken Pizza. This was really good. Their BBQ sauce was sweet, and not too thick. I normally don't eat chicken on pizza, but this was delicious. It was actually better the next day after it had been refrigerated. Weird how that works.
This Pizza above is 1/2 Slaughterhouse five, 1/2 BBQ Chicken. You can't go wrong here!
They have regular pizza here too if you don't want to go all out. This pizza was for the kiddos.
When all else fails and you are wanting to get out of the house and eat some quality pizza, you can't go wrong with Jockamo's. Get there early though, this place gets pretty busy on a Friday Night, but the wait is never too long. It's also a great place to bring your family.
Yes, these are my goofy kids and even goofier nephew. They never turn down a pizza date!
- Pro Tip -Always get the large when you go. I say this not because their pizza isn't filling, but because you'll want to take leftovers home so you can eat this delicious pizza all weekend!
